Flexible in design, this 20" Cast Iron Sampson Grate is exactly as it appears - it's to support your logs, provide the necessary air flow for optimal combustion, allow the ashes to fall, & to protect the floor of your firebox from excessive heat damage. But what is not immediately obvious is the fact that this Grate can be somewhat customized to one's personal display taste. As the Legs are bolted (not cast or welded) to the body, one can shift the body forward or back to create the desired angle & effect - be it perfectly centered, a higher-front, or a high-backed appearance. And don't overlook the Flame motifs cast into the outer sides of the Grill & marking each Leg. Granted, they are subtle, but a nice touch none-the-less. Or, if you like the style of this, but need a slightly smaller size, view our other offering for the big sister of this Grate - it is 24" W (20" at the rear). Crafted in the US by Liberty Foundry & composed of 1/2" thick Cast Iron. Finished a Semi-gloss Black. Measures 8" High x 20" Wide (16" at the rear) x 16" Deep. Holds the logs ~4" from the floor. There is ~1" of space between the individual Ribs of the Grate. Arrives in 6 pieces - 3 Grill sections & 3 Legs. Minor assembly is required but the necessary bolts & nuts are provided.
