(More customer reviews)This is a great little grill for a party of two, or appetizers. I put mine on a medium weight rolling metal cart so I can bring it to the table without having it on the table.
After looking for a replacement for my dead Hibachi I settled on the rectangular Yakatori Grill. It is not a Japanese Konro (Conro) barbecue, nor is it priced like one. It is made of diatomite/diatomaceous earth not ceramic, but it meets the challenge of grilling quite well. For the initial/test burn we set it in my firepit, the exterior got up to 150o F too hot for my table, but not too hot for the Habachi's metal cart. The grilling area over the coals went off the high end of my little laser thermometer just as any grill should.
If you are concerned about what Hibachis are made of, or their coatings, the Yakatori Grill might be a viable alternative for you.
After four uses, I would purchase this grill again.
