Pros [so far]:
I have a six-year-old Napoleon 308 [bought in June, 2004] and tried to get a side burner from my local dealer, but he said the new burners don't fit the old bbqs, so I bought this thinking if it didn't fit exactly, I could make an adapter bracket. To my pleasant surprise, it fit almost perfectly -- its surface is about two inches lower than the shelf it replaced, but this is not a detractor.
Ignited immediately. Works great.
Seems to have good resistance to flame-out due to wind, although I have not tried it in high winds, only on the lowest setting in light breezes.
Came with all the necessary parts, as advertised.
Easy to install, but see below.
Cons [so far]:
It might be stainless steel, but it's not STAINLESS stainless steel; it attracts a magnet, and good stainless steel isn't supposed to. Hence the downgrade to 3 stars. [I suppose one can't expect too much for only $135 plus $10 shipping.]
Although it was easy to install, making sure the fittings didn't leak was difficult.
There was a two-week delay in shipping the order due to the factory, but this was a minor nit.
Not exactly a con, but if you plan to use a rotisserie and this burner at the same time, you will need to replace the straight plastic handle of the rotisserie with a metal T-handle.
