(More customer reviews)Saw this on a HGTV "Hot Grills" show, and knew instantly we needed it. Arrives nicely packaged, perfect for gift giving. Materials are nice - belt seems sturdy, is very adjustable (once you read the instructions - part of the belt is hidden under a velcro flap), and the tools are high quality. Lots of extra pockets for adding in your own stuff - a can of beer won't fit the pockets, but a bottle will.

A lot of the past grilling sets we've bought are cute but flimsy, not dishwasher safe, or made of too much plastic so they melt on the grill. These are metal with rubber in just the right places, and went through their first dishwasher cycle just fine.

Seemed a little expensive when I saw it online, but now that it's home, it seems like a good value. It'll pay for itself if we stop using (and leaving) our expensive indoor-only knives and tongs outside!

Handles just long enough to get the job done without burning yourself.

I don't think I would put them in the dishwasher though, unless I had left them out and forgotten about 'em and they were really filthy.

The fork could be a tiny bit smaller, but overall this is a great set!

UPDATE: After using them for a couple months, the turnover broke right through the handle, just 'cause it got stuck in the grid. It didn't take any force at all to split the wood. And NO I didn't wash them in the dishwasher.

Char-Broil Patio Caddie Gas Grill Review

(More customer reviews)Consider this a long term test.I bought my Patio Caddie out of desperation when another cheap grille died one nice summer Saturday with friends coming over for dinner.I simply wasn't in a mood to spend $400 or $500 for a king kong unit.
What makes a good grille is really simple: it must start every time (it does), it must generate enough heat to cook (it does, but keeping the cover on helps)and it must have high quality grids (it does).On the last point, and what really sets the Patio Caddie Apart, are the heavy porcelainized grids.The are wonderful to cook on, easy to clean, haven't sagged in 5 years use.
Consider this the Honda Civic of grills: I fill the mini-tank once or twice a year for $7 and cook at least once a week year round (in Seattle, no less).It is absolutely the finest chicken cooking device I have ever seen and easily cooks dinner for 4 to 6.No it won't handle a 10 Lb salmon in one shot or cook a dozen burgers for a tribal reunion.And a Honda Civic wont carry an entire NFL team at one time either.
The only downside is that the heat output does become limited below 50 degrees, but that's a function of the propane, not the grill itself.
If you live in a condo or apartment with a small deck, if you're on a budget, or want a portable unit look no further, this is it.
I will be moving on to a bigger and better grille in a couple weeks, and believe it or not, I have a friend who wants my old patio caddie for her condo.Old, greasy and well used, it still has life in it, and she knows how well it cooks.I just hope my new, bigger grille works as well.

(More customer reviews)My wife is always looking for ways to make me more helpful around the house.She knows I hate to clean the grill even though I use it a lot.I got tired of buying steel brushes to clean the grill and have them all gummed up in a few weeks.She bought me the Grill Daddy and I finally got around to trying it and it works pretty good.You have to turn the grill on high and you load the Grill Daddy with about a cup of water and you go to work.The water on the hot grill turns to steam and it got my grill looking like new.Now, it didn't help me with all the other cleaning that I had to do on my Webber gas grill.I still have to spend a Saturday afternoon taking care of all that is below the grill.However, I know I can get the grill clean in a relatively short period of time.I only used it once and I know it came with an extra set of brushes but I don't think that these brushes will gum up all that soon.(Especially since I don't clean the grill that often).However, I couldn't help but see all the gunk on the grill fall away into the drop pan rather than sticking to the brush.
