(More customer reviews)After crawling out of the cave, my wife and I were finally in a position to buy a nice grill (we've had lots of them over the last half-century). After reading lots of reviews, we chose this one. Now, for the first time, I know what a Grill is. At this point we cook as many as 3 meals a day on it. Moments ago had breakfast by putting cast iron cooking grill on the Weber and cooked sunny-side-up eggs. Toasted some bread on the upper rack at the same time. The eggs were perfectly cooked, something I attribute to the heat of the grill - which appears to be orders of magentude higher than our electric stove top (gas is not available where we live). We've cooked salmon on planks, steaks (more on this below) and the requisite hot dogs and hamburgers. Everything is cooked to perfection by the high, well-regulated heat and the containment of that heat by the lid - which is massive and surprisingly heavy.

Weber has clearly designed this item to be around for a long time. The components are extremely well made, and there is no rattle, roll or vibration. The cooking grates are very heavy, but heat up quickly and do a superb job of searing. Our steaks now always have perfect diamond shaped grill marks and are nicely carbonized on the outside, but rare to
medium rare on the inside - just as we like them. Chicken, unlike every cheap grill I've used, comes out tender and moist on the inside (use medium heat). In the past grilled chicken was always tough and burnt on the outside and not done in the middle. Not good eats and probably not even safe.

The removeable bottom pan is brilliant - though admittedly quite hard to get showroom clean after 100's of grilling sessions. We're going to try a pressure washer on it soon. The drip pan system is another one of those "why doesn't everyone do it this way" systems. My one - and only one - criticism is that the Weber aluminum liners develop pin-holes really quickly and so you also have to clean the support pan. Fortunately that is a breeze.

Even the side burner is a wonder in my opinion. I've used it it 20 mile/hour winds (we live on a mountain - that's pretty common) and it has never blown out. The heat is even and well delivered. A particular favorite is to grill up some onions with salt/pepper/butter/olive oil/garlic in a pan while making an appropriate meat dish to put them over.

I rarely find products that are so well engineered and functional. If you've never cooked on a *real* grill that gets *hot,* this will be a revelation to you. If you used Weber grills in the past, I'm guessing you'll just be shaking your head in agreement. Bravo! If I could give it 6 stars I would.

(More customer reviews)Although I have been a staunch Weber supporter for many years, I made a mistake and walked away from what I know and loved in search for "bigger and better".What a mistake that was.Although it looked good out of the box, it didn't last long and after two years never did figure out how to really cook with it.So I came back to my Summit series 470.I does everything that you could possibly need from 4 powerful burners that produce more than enough heat and nice clean flames, to a sear burner, a built in rotisserie, a built in smoker, a built in tank full/empty indicators, storage space for the rotisserie parts when not in use, and all the more normal mundane stove top burner and warrming tray as well as good workspace.Most importantly, everything works under your control and I am now the master chef of the neighborhood again.Couldn't be happier.
If grilling is important to you, and you can afford the price tag, this is the grill for you.

(More customer reviews)I have bought this a week ago finally got to use it for a family picnic.I got it out ready to use and found that one of the legs was broke off for use in table top use mode.It cooked the food fairly well but noticed that the burners are a little small for the amount of cooking space it has (the burgers near the edge would not get cooked at all). When trying to pack up to put away the leg with the wheels collaped bending the only support bar (should have two on each leg)

I would not buy again if I had choice.

(More customer reviews)We were extremely disappointed with our purchase of the George Foreman portable propane grill. I suppose it was our own fault, but we did not realize the top/lid was not removable. Thus, there is no way to keep the heat 'in', so to speak.

I wanted others to know what this product offers
It is an interesting beautiful modern hi tech gas grill perfect for tight spaces like small terraces. It is made for the I phone generation that wants something with high style and performance. One of the designers actually once worked at Apple according to past press releases I read

Fuego the makers of expensive 1500 dollar plus grills and up have come up with a smaller more cost effective model that comes in colors or Stainless Steel
So far on most counts it's a winner. One of the most beautifully designed grilling products in years with some caveats. Check their website out it's a beauty.
It is more challenging to cook on then your typical Weber however I imagine with some time one can adjust to the unique design of the burners and the control knob that also takes some adjusting too for self ingnition.It does work fairly well but takes a simple learning curve for ignition

My complaints so far with this grill is cleaning is somewhat of big challenge under the burners and the grease cup is too tiny and flimsy
The gas tank is hidden behind the stunning perforated colored or Stainless steel curved sheet
My biggest pet peeve however is every time you want to cook you have to remove the metal sheet front plate which otherwise perfectly hides the unsightly gas tank. You then place the curved rounded tank cover somewhere in my case on the floor of my terrace to turn the gas on. It looks awful with the cover off and you now have this cover you have to find a place for until you shut the gas off after cooking and then reinstall the cover. What on earth were they thinking? Incredibly stupid on the part of the designers.
This is going to be a deal killer for some. I imagine upcoming on a future design they are going to have to put the door on a hinge or other improved design. Otherwise face a lot of returns or lost sales from folks that find this a major annoyance every time they want to turn the grill on
A huge disappointment for what is the most incredible high design grilling product in years to hit the market at an affordable price for what it is.

The other very sad element is the company itself. While they publish a clever blog they have no one during regular business hours at the company to answer questions intelligently and do not return phone calls promptly taking days to respond. There is practically no one working at the company. They are more interested in selling products and letting someone else worry about customer concerns. My unit came with a damaged cutting board for example that was poorly packed by Fuego.The voice mail said someone would call back in 3 days or more.
Fuego also told me that dealers would have the new grill close to Memorial Day in late May and couldn't be bothered to follow up with me when it would come in. Here it is October and I finally received the grill yesterday.

My advice to Fuego? Hire a few folks or outsource to a world class service provider who can advise and inform customers.This would build long term satisfied customers spreading good word of mouth.Fuego is in need of improved customer service that said they do make a stand alone category killer product even with the current above flaws noted. The product performs reasonably well in most cooking attributes especially as I continue to break in the grill. Overall my patience may have paid off overall despite the earlier disappointing business behavior early on of the Fuego folks.

Updates March 7th 2010.The Fuego folks now have future thoughts/plans about installing hinged doors on upcoming production models. Call or email to find out.
After a few months of back and forth with the Fuego folks they put me in touch with a manufacturer rep that was able to redesign the function of gas door cover to incorporate a working hinge. It has greatly improved my satisfaction with this product. Some of my earlier criticisms are starting to be addressed internally at the company. One may need patience dealing with these folks and their service providers but they do follow through eventually. All in all I do recommend the product for those that seek great design attributes over some shortcomings with functions like cleaning the interior of the grill. An excellent fellow Amazon reviewer Frank Diniz has suggested lining the bottom of the grill with foil which I plan to try. In the end the Fuego folks have kept and lived up to their promises by exchanging the damaged shelf and assisting me in finding a solution to the no hinge door issue. Though I am reasonably satisfied with my purchase based on limited high design grill options in the market place I believe future improved models will be superior to what our first generation products are like. That said it is an acceptable choice as its stands today. Thanks to all for voting my review to the number one position here on Amazon Cheers

(More customer reviews)I purchased this product and am not that impressed. It is really just a pressure guage with some colored zones on it. It doesnt give you the greatest indication of the amount of fuel left in the tank. It does work, and as the needle indicates lower, obviously the tank contains less LP but it isnt that accurate. With the tank valve shut, the pressure will go up and indicate "GREEN," making you think that you have a lot of fuel. But when you turn on the grill and the pressure drops it indicates "RED" and you could run out of fuel before you cook your food.

Use this gauge as a general indication of tank level only, dont expect the greatest results. Take the $20 that you would spend on this device and apply it towards purchasing a second propane tank. That way if one tank runs out you have another to replace it with while you go and exchange the empty. You'll always have propane!
